Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) Cat

Camila the Cat needs a home

I’ve been waiting for my forever home since June 2015.

Camila is such an easygoing, laid back kitty. She does not get easily stressed around new people or places. We originally pulled Camila along with her (6) two week old kittens from a kill facility. They all had very back upper respiratory infections but all pulled through and are 100% healthy now and would love to find forever homes of their own. Camila has tested great around dogs, children, and other cats. She would easily fit into almost any home environment.

***UPDATE*** April 2016 -- Once Camila came to the shelter, she started to decline. She began to loose weight, low appetite, and dehydrated. We took her into the vet to be seen. After a full blood work-up, she was diagnosed as being in renal (kidney) failure. It was recommended to put Camila down. Camila was still affectionate, and getting around, and had a sparkle left in her so we wanted to give her a chance. She stayed the week at the vet receiving fluids and special food and perked up! She is now in foster care getting the extra TLC to pull her the rest of the way through.

***UPDATE*** June 2017 -- Camila has been moved back to the shelter and is doing great. She is completely off of her special food (she became p
icky while in her foster home
and refused to eat it and wanted regular food so we let her get her way, we are just happy she is eating and doing so great!) She is also completely off from getting fluids and seems to be staying hydrated just by drinking the needed water herself. He favorite thing to do is when you trickle the sink water and she drinks from there as a treat once or twice a day. She is also is drinking water great from plain water bowls but especially loves it when you turn the sink water on for her. She will meow and call you over to the sink for you to turn it on for her. She is just so sweet and so happy!

***UPDATE*** February 2018 -- Camila has been moved back to the shelter and is doing great. She is in the front part of the shelter, free-roaming along with a couple of our older, mellow girls.

Our adoption process page will provide you with all of the information you need to know about adopting through our organization, including what to expect, what information we will require from you, and finding your purrfect match.

Thank You For Choosing to Adopt!!

As a no-kill rescue, we can only bring in and save more cats and kittens in need as our current cats and kittens are adopted. This is why we say that when you adopt one cat or kitten you are actually saving TWO lives! One is the current cat or kitten that you are adopting, the second is the one that we now have room to save and place into our safe shelter.
